U sv. Jana Exhibition Hall and Jan Karafiat´s Fireflies-Jimramov
Description

A classisist building at Jimramov square was built by Antonín Belcredi in 1801. It was used as a school till 1986. At present there is an Exhibion Hall and the Hall of Natives, where you can find various book editions of Jan Karafiat´s Fireflies. A famous director and animator Jiří Trnka used this theme for his film in the sixties. The puppet scene exhibited in this gallery was made by Jiří Trnka for Expo 1938 in New York. Due to the war Expo was not held, The Fireflies was exhibited at Expo 1958 in Brussels.
