The Horácká Gallery, Nové Město na Moravě

The Horácká Gallery is located in a chateau built by the Dubský Family from Třebomyslice, at the end of the 16th century. During the Thirty Years' War the chateau was plundered by the Swedish troops and after the great fire in 1723 it became desolated. The chateau was rebuilt into the Neo-Renaissance style in 1874 and until 1945 it was owned by the noblewomen from the Mariánské školské nadace – Marianská Educational Foundation. There is a permanent exhibition on „Metamorphoses of landscape and shape“, presenting the Neoclassical development of Czech sculpture in the 20th century, supplemented by an exhibition of landscape scenes in the Horácko region (O. Gutfreund, A. Košík, J. Růžička, V. Makovský, L. Martínek, J. Mařatka, J. V. Myslbek, J. Pelikán, J. Štursa, J. Lauda, F. Úprka, O. Blažíček, J. Jambor, P. Kopáček and the others). „Glass, glass, glass“ presents an exhibition of processed glass from the village of Škrdlovice from the 1960s and 1970s. The gallery also makes audio guides available.
